Services for bitbreeze applications

bb-app.cz is the service domain operated by bitbreeze s.r.o. bitbreeze applications (e.g. Tagra) use it to validate their license and to download updates and language packs. This page is informational – for users of the applications and for network administrators who need to know what the applications communicate.

What the service provides

Everything runs automatically in the background of the application, no user configuration required.

Licensing

License validation and management

The application validates its license at start-up and then periodically, including the number of computers it may be used on.

  • trial version and license activation
  • licenses supplied through distributors
  • operation on computers without internet access (offline license)
Purchase

Orders and renewals

The customer fills in an order or renewal on the bb-app.cz website, which the application opens in a browser.

  • a proforma invoice with a QR code for bank transfer is sent by e-mail
  • once the payment is received, the license is renewed automatically and a tax invoice is sent
  • documents are issued by the QRQuickPay payment service
Updates

New application versions

The application detects that a new version is available and offers to install it.

  • the installer is downloaded directly from bb-app.cz
  • the server only accepts installers digitally signed with the bitbreeze s.r.o. certificate
  • after download the application verifies the checksum (SHA-256)
Language packs

Application translations

Application texts in all languages are maintained centrally. At start-up the application downloads the current translations for the selected language, so fixes and new languages do not wait for a new version.

Coming soon add-ons and downloadable materials according to the purchased license.

For network and firewall administrators

An overview of the addresses the applications communicate with and the data they transfer. All communication is outbound from the application; the applications do not open any inbound ports.

Addresses to allow

Only bb-app.cz is required for all applications. Further addresses depend on the application and are used only when working with the respective feature.

What data is sent to bb-app.cz

The license is bound to a specific computer, so besides the license number the application also sends data that identify the computer. It is used only for license validation and for enforcing the number of computers.

Good to know

Your application data stays with you Data the application works with (for Tagra: tachograph and card files, data about drivers, vehicles and journeys) is not sent to bb-app.cz. The applications send no telemetry or error reports.
How often At application start-up and when the license is refreshed, usually once every 24 hours. While the application is waiting for license activation, it checks more often. Individual requests are small.
Encrypted connection Communication with bb-app.cz uses HTTPS with server certificate validation.
Computers without internet The license can also run offline: the application creates a request and we deliver the license as a file.
Data entered in the browser E-mail and billing details are entered by the customer only on bb-app.cz pages for trial, purchase or activation. They are used to issue the license and invoices.
